Our Wise Government in Action

September 29, 2010 in Oil Moratorium Protest

Some videos are so insane, you have to wonder if it’s a set up. Could this certifiable plonker REALLY be an elected Congressman? As Oil and Gas Workers, do we sleep peacefully in our beds, knowing that our vital interests are in the safe hands of these Enlightened Minds?

We welcome your suggestions for videos to include in this section… Applaud

1. Congressman Hank Johnson worrying that the island of Guam might tip over

2. Rep Maxine Waters bluntly threatens Big Oil

3. Congressman Pete Stark about US Border security, urine, and misc. gems.

4. Nancy Pelosi: when cornered like a rat, just speak in “Gobbledygook “.

Worrying about Guam tipping over

September 29, 2010 in Oil Moratorium Protest

If you are still under the naive assumption that the “Experts ” in Big Government know best, and they they even know better than you how to spend your money for you, then you must be smokin’ some mighty fine weed. Check out this simpleton. Then just reflect on the fact that this Congressman is voting on issues that fundamentally affect the society we live in.

Public Opinion…

fed by biased, sensationalist and one-sided coverage, has been running very hostile against Oil and Gas Workers.
Jo Public demands and expects all the benefits of an advanced civilization, based on cheap, affordable energy.
Jo Public demands and expects cheap, affordable Oil, Gas, and Electricity.
The question is: Does Jo Public have any clue as to the difficult, dangerous, skillful jobs handled by the Oil and Gas Worker…?

Our cartoonist, Ron McGeary, whom you support every time you buy a Protest Sticker, illustrates here his take on extreme environmentalists, whose reasoning has become so extreme, they are blinded to the hard facts.
We maintain Little Barry O. pays extreme attention to their noise and hysteria, and is willing to sacrifice the American Oil Man on the altar of eco extremism and political expedience!

Our cartoonist, Ron McGeary, whom you support every time you buy a protest sticker, illustrates here his take on the insane, one-sided MEDIA ONSLAUGHT on the American Oil and Gas Man.

We maintain this: the generous investment that BP Oil makes in the US economy: IGNORED

the massive employment that BP Oil provides to US workers: IGNORED

the sincere, and massive efforts that BP have made to “make good “: IGNORED

Our verdict: MASSIVE MEDIA SENSATIONALIST BIAS, EXAGGERATION, AND PRO-TREEHUGGER HYSTERA

Eco Boom-Boom 5) “The Evil Empire “

Eco Boom-Boom 5) “The Evil Empire “

Meyrickpedia: Eco Boom-Boom = an extreme environmentalist article of Absolute Faith, not necessarily supported by bothersome Facts

A group of us were sitting about, chatting, drinking coffee, watching Telly. A bunch of Riff-raff Oil Patch folk. The worst of the worst. Polluters and miscreants…

Ban offshore drilling!

Our motley crew included helicopter pilots, some Coastguard Officers, and two BP reps.

Ban offshore drilling!

The television presenters were doing a magnificent job. I reflected on how many million of viewers were by now in floods of tears. It was all about the sensitive wetlands, the marshes, destroyed forever by BP’s criminal greed and their ‘orrible (good-fer-nuthin’) Oil. Everything was just fine before BP came along. The Oil had invaded, and it would never, ever, go away. The music, haunting, tragic, accompanied the camera, as it panned slowly and sadly back and forth of what seemed to be oil stained reeds, and a murky water line. It looked bad. Real bad.

Ban offshore drilling!

Some Dufus, another helicopter pilot, said:
“There’s something I just don’t get. Every year they BURN huge areas out there. It’s either lightning or deliberate fire set by hunters, but I’ve seen most of those wetlands on fire at some time or another, and nobody gets all up in arms about it. It always seems to come back real fast…
So why don’t they just BURN that shit…??? “
Several voices chipped in, and pilots remarked on the many times they had flown through billowing clouds of smoke, covering huge areas, acres and acres, on fire. Somebody said it was healthy for the wetlands, and gave an ecological explanation that sounded quite reasonable.

The Coastguard Officers were smiling. They knew exactly what we were talking about. But their amusement soon became focused on one of the BP reps, who was theatrically covering his head with both hands, and shaking a weary “No….! “
In the end, this worthy spoke as follows:
“We know…. we know…. but right now, the extreme environmental lobby has us portrayed as the Evil Empire… can you even IMAGINE what the Media would do to us if we went there…?? “
Everybody laughed. Yep. He was right. Can you even IMAGINE what would happen if you bothered the extreme environmental lobby with such pesky little things as FACTS??

Let’s face it, the ‘Liberal Media’ program is to back Big Government, and destroy Big Oil. Don’t bother us with the reality of our Black Gold dependent economy and inconvenient facts…

Eco Boom-Boom 4) “Another BP legacy to the world: Tar Balls “

Eco Boom-Boom 4) Another BP legacy to the world: Tar Balls

Meyrickpedia: Eco Boom-Boom = an extreme environmentalist article of Absolute Faith, not necessarily supported by bothersome Facts

If you have watched Television, or Tell-it-Wrong, or Tell-it-Gibberish, then have you noticed this?

When an announcer mentions ‘tar balls’, or if they show dramatic footage, have you spotted that there is an implied notion that this is a real new phenomenon? Never happened before? And of course, it’s all BP’s fault? Have you ever heard a TV Yapping Head ever say that tar balls have been around forever? That they actually occur naturally? That Oil seeps up naturally through fissures and cracks, and escapes into the open Ocean? It happens in the Gulf? It happens off the coast of California? That Nature has been dealing with that for aeons?

If you have, then I’m impressed, because I certainly have not.
In the popular TV ‘dumbing down’ version, this is all new, has never happened before, and it’s ALL BP’S FAULT! (And George Bush’s, of course)

But if only the voters are smart, and vote for BIGGER Government, then all these problems will go away and never come back again. We know how the experts in Government are already running the Banks, Mortgages, Health Care, and the Automotive Industry. Hopefully, they will soon do the same for Oil and Gas…

Eco Boom-Boom 3: “A Massive bird kill on the Chandelier Islands “

Meyrickpedia: Eco Boom-Boom = an extreme environmentalist article of Absolute Faith, not necessarily supported by bothersome Facts

Environment News Service article dated April 30, 2010

http://www.ens-newswire.com/ens/apr2010/2010-04-30-02.html

It was now many weeks after the Deepwater Horizon explosion, and I was ‘working over’ flat out on my normal ‘off’ days. My traditional duty schedule of seven days ‘off’ and seven days ‘on’ had become eleven days on and three days off. I was flying over the oil spill area every day, from the nearest on land helicopter base. It was a grand stand view of a disaster, and the unprecedented resources that BP was -most honorably, in my opinion- bringing to bear on the problem.

As part of this amazing episode, I had the interesting experience of landing on the beach one day on one of the Chandelier Islands. A long, uninhabited (save by tens of thousands of birds) Island chain, off the South East coast of Louisiana. Note this flight occurred towards the end of JULY. This was many weeks after the Deepwater Horizon explosion. I was flying as part of the BP oil spill response. From conversations with people who had spent many days trekking up and down those Chandelier islands, including an amused Coastguard Official, it became clear that NO OIL had been found at that stage, on ANY of the Chandelier islands. The Coastguard Officials said they had found ONE tar ball, and they could NOT positively identify it as having come from the BP well.

I can personally back up that report, because I flew up and down a considerable length of the island chain. The reason for this was simple: I had been told to pick up two people off the beach. Hell if I could find them. I flew up and down, looking, looking… and all the while noticing NO OIL. Eventually it turned out they were sitting in a boat, waiting for me. They started to row a small boat ashore, I landed, shut down and waited for them. The huge flocks of bird, momentarily startled into flight, soon settled back down around me, seemingly quite unconcerned about the strange yellow bird in their midst. It was a peaceful scene. Happy birds, doing their thing, and unspoiled Nature. Wished I could have stayed there a few days…

That very same night… I was watching the Gogglebox. I just about fell off my chair! The Talking Heads, sadly shaking their heads of course, were talking about… the Chandelier Islands! The very islands I had flown all over that very same day. Where I had seen NO OIL. Where the Coastguard had confirmed they had only found ONE tar ball, not positively linked to BP. The entire TV presentation was deliberately misleading. It focused heavily on the importance of the Chandelier Islands as a Wild Life refuge, on the different species of wildlife found there, and THE IMPRESSION WAS CREATED that the Chandelier Islands were over run by oil! There was even a clip of an oiled Pelican being cared for! No observer other than myself, could possibly NOT have concluded that that bird came from the Chandelier Islands, and that the entire bird colony there was not at immediate risk…
Whatdafufufu…..!??

Dude… this is DISTORTION and OUTRIGHT LIES.
After watching that program, I just wondered what right thinking, well meaning, caring member of Jo Public could possibly NOT be angry as hell after watching that???

Nobody is saying that there were no birds affected in the Oil Spill. Nobody knows how many have never been found. The article above I have linked to makes that point, and it is a valid one.One oiled bird is one too many. There is nothing as disheartening as seeing an oiled bird struggling wearily. Such losses grieve any right thinking person. But what are the actual numbers? Tens of thousands of lost birds? Hundreds of thousands? Whole scale extermination of threatened species because of those environmental thugs at BP? Or several Hundreds?

Fish and Game Report September 15, 2010

And I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be cold and unfeeling, how many of those birds die every day due to natural causes, such as growing old, getting the bird equivalent of arthritis, lumbago and senile decay?? Hundreds?? More likely… thousands.

And what impression… have the “liberal media ” deliberately created amongst voters…?

No, the BP Oil Spill wasn’t good. But was it the whole scale end of the World for birds as we once knew it?
I doubt it very much. Of course we are saddened by what’s happened to threatened bird species. But note they were already nearly wiped out once before by DDT, and man’s encroachment. It’s not just Oil that’s the threat.

The environmentalist article above I have linked to gives an entirely different impression. Note the ominous, dramatic colors of oil stretching out to totally engulf the Chandelier Islands…
And note also the elephantine size of that alleged oil slick. One hundred miles long by forty eight miles wide?
I’m sorry, I must have been asleep at the stick, but I never saw anything like a continuous slick anywhere NEAR that size…

Francis Meyrick

Note: FACT CHECK. Of the millions of birds who call the Gulf Coast their home, as of September 26, 2010, these are the statistics…

LIVE, OILED BIRDS COLLECTED: 2,075
DEAD BIRDS COLLECTED: (NOT ALL OIL RELATED) 6,050
LIVE, OILED MAMMALS COLLECTED: 9 (No, it’s not a misprint…. nine…)
DEAD MAMMALS COLLECTED: (NOT ALL OIL RELATED) 94

Eco Boom-Boom 2)

“Take a cup of oil “

Meyrickpedia: Eco Boom-Boom = an extreme environmentalist article of Absolute Faith, not necessarily supported by bothersome Facts

You have to imagine a break room jammed full of noisy helicopter pilots, not famous for their political sensitivity.
You have to further imagine that they are “half listening ” to the Yapping Heads on the Gogglebox…
“half debating ” wine, women and song…
“half drifting away ” (yes, they tend to be a bit psychotic) in some aviation induced stupor…
Suddenly ALL collapsing in hysterics!

Question: WHAT caused the hilarity…!? Speaking
Answer: Certifiable talking donkeys on the Gogglebox….

Remember these guys fly vast distances out over the Gulf of Mexico waters all day long, every day, and have a very vivid up-close-and-personal awareness of just HOW MUCH water there is out there…!

Now let us listen to some ‘truly wacko’ talking heads trying to describe to Gullible Jo Public how serious this oil spill is. It needs a LOT more Government Intervention. The Government really needs to TAKE OVER the Oil Industry, and start running it properly.
With all those ‘Government Experts’, ya know…
(maybe the same ones that did such a wonderful job running the US Post Office)
Do you know how much oil is out there now, Ma’am, courtesy of those louts and hooligans in the Oil Patch?
Do you know, Sir, just how much of the pristine waters of the Gulf of Mexico have been polluted for the next five generations??

Let me tell you. For I am on Telly, and therefore I am an expert…

(We listened in awe.)
Apparently you take a wash hand basin, fill it with water, and then ADD a cup of water! That’s how bad the oil spill is!
Oh, no, says another Yapping Head. You fill your BATH TUB with water. You add your cup to that. THEN you know how bad it is.
??????

Laughing

Dude, take TEN THOUSAND OLYMPIC SIZE SWIMMING POOLS.
Add ONE TEASPOON FULL OF OIL.
Watch the UNHOLY MESS that one tea spoon full of oil will make.
(It spreads far and wide, and I guarantee you, nobody will want to swim in it).
And even THAT is a grotesque distortion, and way UNDER estimates the volume/ratio of water to oil)

But no, Missus Concerned Nice Lady in Philadelphia: just believe that nice man on Television, and go and fill your bath tub with water, and add a cup of oil.
Then you will know….
Just how much the Oil and Gas Man has been tricking with Flipper the Dolphin.

(sigh…)
And it gets better…!

(to be continued…)
