Punching the Clock
punch the clock,
show it no mercy;
because truly, it never felt
one ounce of pity for me…
with it’s tellings of my
comings and goings;
it rightfully deserves
a mighty beating

I’m seeing a factory worker doing a monotonous mass production job. Impersonal.
Then again, it could refer to most anybody suffering from a degree of alienation…
