Sunrise

Posted on August 3, 2011

You know,
If you were here,
You’d probably tell me
Exactly, what to do.
If you were here,
I’d listen,
Then I’d do Exactly
What you told me to do.
But you’re not.
And you didn’t.

Have you ever watched a sunrise,
Unable to see the sun?
Both the road and the grass
Become mysterious hues of blue
Before becoming their true colors.

It’s fine, really.
Something remarkable in that beauty
That you know is there,
But you can’t see.
Did you know that it existed?

You’re not here,
Leaving me to proverbial
Sunrises and sunsets alone.
No one to enjoy the beauty with,
No one to help find the answers
As I figure it out,
All by myself.
