Holocaust Diary  Sept 21, 2019   First Solo  Pt.1

Trying to understand the Holocaust saga is like wrestling a roaming fire hydrant. And us, poor worms, thirsty, but drowning at the same time.
I was a flight instructor for many years, and I sent many a student solo in an airplane or a helicopter. We built up to it slowly. Small bites. My instinct is to go the same way here. But where to start? How to build up a balanced view? And whilst doing so, come across as a fair & balanced investigator? A capable Flight Instructor? Hell, have I even soloed properly myself yet?
The subject, illegal to even QUESTION in large parts of Europe, (on penalty of fines & imprisonment) is polarized to the nth degree. If you do a search, you get a bazillion results that assume the Holocaust is true, and that six million Jews (or more) were gassed by the sadistic, cruel Germans. The second bazillion go WAY the other way, and often shrilly claim it’s all a massive hoax. It’s all about money & power.
The calm & fair observer will quickly deduce that somebody is LYING. The positions are SO far apart, there is no middle ground. Somebody is not only lying, they are lying hysterically. Through-their-yellow-teeth.

I find myself puzzling how to build up to properly understanding this in a rational, objective, comprehensive, & transparently fair manner.  Because it IS important. I ponder this quote:

We cannot just shrug our shoulders & ignore the issue of the Holocaust – true or not. We are not sheep, meekly waiting to be shorn. Or laws to be passed, further restricting our Free Speech. We cannot say “Well, it’s History.” For the debate is acutely relevant TODAY.
Who… owns the global Media?

I’m not proud, and, being a Simple Bear, I’m going to take all the help I can get. Right now, I have several different, (furiously competing) sources of Holocaust information, which I fancy (mischievously) comparing and contrasting with one another. There are hundreds out there, but we need to narrow it down to a dozen or so, I would suggest. Which are your trusted sources? I fancy identifying the loudest, most persuasive voices on EACH side. And, just for the sheer hell of it, bouncing them off each other. It could get noisy.

In Holocaust Diary,  First Solo,  Pt.2, I will be listing my suggested sites FOR and AGAINST.

Finally, because stuff gets buried under succeeding posts, I’m building up a simple, off-site, ‘archiving system’ which I will reveal later.
